The Goose and the Gander in Cuba "IndyWatch Feed War"

By Jacob G. Hornberger | FFF | June 12, 2023

Hand it to the Chinese and Cubans for exposing the utter hypocrisy of the U.S. national-security state, its empire of foreign military bases, and its foreign policy of interventionism.

Last week the Wall Street Journal reported that China is paying Cuba billions of dollars in return for permitting China to construct a major facility in Cuba to spy on the United States.

China and Cuba deny the deal but what is so funny has been the reaction of U.S interventionists. They are going ballistic over Chinas supposedly aggressive behavior.

Florida Senator Marc Rubio expressed the sentiments of all U.S. interventionists by exclaiming, The threat to America from #Cuba isnt just real, it is far worse than this. Rubio and U.S. Senator Mark Warner from Virginia jointly stated, We are deeply disturbed by reports that Havana and Beijing are working together to target the United States and our people. The United States must respond to Chinas ongoing and brazen attacks on our nations security.

The Reds are coming! The Reds are coming!

Wait a minute! What about all those military installations, including spying facilities, that the Pentagon and CIA have surrounding China and Russia? Indeed, what about the Pentagons and CIAs imperial torture and prison camp at Guantanamo Bay, which is used to spy on Cuba?

Oh, there isnt anything threatening about those facilities, U.S. interventionists exclaim. They are just for defense. The Chinese, Russians, and Cubans just suffer from extreme paranoia. The United States, U.S. interventionists say, is really just a peace-loving nation. Never mind that much of the world views the U.S. national-security state as Martin Luther King did as the greatest purveyor of violence in the world, one that is responsible for the deaths and injuries of millions of people in the last 7o years.

Referring to the China-Cuba deal, John Kirby, a spokesman for the National Security Council, stated that U.S. officials are closely monitoring these activities and taking steps to counter them.

Really? Now why would they do that? One big reason: They dont like it! They dont like it when some foreign power from thousands of miles away establishes a spy facility only 90 miles away from American shores.

And what happens if that Chinese spy facility in Cuba begins to show signs of nuclear missiles? I will guarantee you that Kirby and all the other officials in the national-security establishment will go ballistic and begin calling for a bombing campaign against Cuba or an invasion, just like Pentagon and CIA officials did back in 1962. Thats because they wont like the fact that there are Chinese nuclear missiles pointed at the U.S. from only...

Defense Roadmap Carves New Path for US-Indo Ties "IndyWatch Feed War"

The US-India relationship, historically based on shared democratic values and strategic alignment, has evolved considerably over the years. The progression from President Clintons diplomatic outreach in the 1990s to the strategic partnership declared under President Bush in 2005 has reflected the growing significance of this relationship. In the present geopolitical context, this association has gained critical importance, mainly due to the increasing influence of China and the resulting shifts in the balance of power in the Indo-Pacific region.

Recent developments further underscore this dynamic. The two nations have shown an unprecedented commitment to strategic cooperation by signing a series of defense and technology agreements.

The 1974 CIA Coup in the United States "IndyWatch Feed War"

Tales of the American Empire | June 8, 2023

American corporate propaganda and schools teach that Richard Nixon was a corrupt, horrible President. This is because he was popular with the American people and took actions to benefit them, at the expense of the Deep State. During his five years in the White House Americans saw a reduction of involvement in the Vietnam War, dtente with the Soviet Union, deep cuts in military spending and the establishment of the Environmental Protection Agency and Occupational Safety and Health Administration. In 1969, Nixon upset the Pentagon by ordering bio-weapon labs closed and all stockpiles destroyed. Nixon ended American involvement in Vietnam combat in 1973 and the military draft that same year. His visit to China in 1972 eventually led to diplomatic relations.

Nixon engaged in intense negotiations with Soviet premier Leonid Brezhnev that led to agreements for increased trade and two landmark arms control treaties: SALT I, the first comprehensive limitation pact signed by the two superpowers, and the Anti-Ballistic Missile Treaty, which ended the nuclear arms race. Nixon and Brezhnev proclaimed a new era of peaceful coexistence and reduced military spending. Nixon worked with Congress to slash military spending 25%!

There was massive opposition to these efforts from corporate America and the Pentagon. Nixon rose to power as a loyal member of the Deep State, but went rogue once he reached the top. He told friends that he didnt trust the CIA, thought their intelligence was poor, and that the CIA was involved in the Kennedy assassination. Nixon was a Quaker from a modest background who served in the Navy during World War II. He had served in the US House of Representatives, the US Senate, and eight years as Vice President. He knew how Washington worked! Nixon got things done so was popular with the American people and would easily win reelection in 1972, giving him more four years to dismantle the Deep State. As a result, Nixon was ousted in a 1974 CIA coup.

Most Countries Side With Russia in Ukraine Conflict While USs Credibility Slips Hersh "IndyWatch Feed War"

Sputnik -12.06.2023

Most of the worlds population supports Russias special military operation in Ukraine, while the United States lost its credibility, Pulitzer Prize-winning US investigative journalist Seymour Hersh said on Sunday.

The percentage of the [countries], particularly of the African and Central Asian and South Asian countries, that have changed from being pro-America to being pro-Russia is really quite dramatic. Much more than a half of the worlds population supports Russia in the war and not the United States. This was never the way it was, Hersh said in an interview with talk show host George Galloway.

The journalist opined that things are not as good as they used to be in Russia amid Western sanctions, but the idea that they are desperate is just wrong.

Hersh also argued that Washington lost so much credibility around the world, citing Saudi Arabias diplomatic rapprochement with Iran as an example.

Its happened because, I think, because of Ukraine and dislike of the war. Saudi Arabia, by the way, theyre selling 25% of [their] oil to China, as I have mentioned, but the Saudis immediately cut a deal. And the Iranians immediately responded They have a lot of control in Yemen over the Houthi tribes, Hersh said.

Russia launched its special military operation in Ukraine on February 24, 2022, following calls for help from the breakaway republics of Donetsk and Luhansk. The world has split into those who support Moscow and accuse NATO of provoking the conflict, and those who condemn Russias actions and impose sanctions on the country, while also ramping up their financial and military aid to Kiev. Some countries have avoided taking sides in the conflict.

Asia-Pacific is where China-Russia no limits partnership will be put to test "IndyWatch Feed War"

BY M. K. BHADRAKUMAR | INDIAN PUNCHLINE | JUNE 11, 2023

The power dynamic in Northeast Asia is undergoing a dramatic change against the backdrop of the no limits strategic partnership between China and Russia. Ukraines defeat in the war with Russia may compel the Biden administration to put boots on the ground triggering a global confrontation and, equally, the US-China relations are at their lowest point since their normalisation in the 1970s, while Taiwan issue may potentially turn into a casus belli of war. To be sure, the Northeast Asian theatre is going to be a crucial arena in the brewing big power confrontation.

Symptomatic of the cascading tensions, Russian foreign ministry summoned the Japanese ambassador on Friday and a protest was lodged in extraordinarily harsh language, as it came to be known that the 100 vehicles that Tokyo innocuously promised last week to Ukraine would in reality be armoured vehicles and all-terrain vehicles. Apparently, Tokyo was dissimulating, since Japans export rules ban its companies from selling lethal items overseas!

Tokyo is crossing a red line and Moscow is not amused. The foreign ministry statement on Friday stressed that the administration of Prime Minister Fumio Kishida should be ready to share responsibility for the deaths of civilians, including those in Russias border regions (and) driving bilateral relations even deeper into a dangerous impasse. Such actions cannot remain without serious consequences.

Significantly, on Friday, in a video conference with General Liu Zhenli, Chief of Staff of the Joint Staff Department of Chinas Central Military Commission, the Chief of the General Staff of Russian Armed Forces and First Deputy Minister of Defence General Valery Gerasimov expressed confidence in the expansion of military cooperation between the two countries and noted, Coordination between Russia and the Peoples Republic of China in the international arena has a stabilising effect on the world situation.

Saudi Arabia announced on Sunday billions of dollars in investment deals between China and the Arab world, on the first day of the China-Arab business conference in Riyadh.

The meeting came amid growing commercial and diplomatic ties between Beijing and Middle Eastern countries, including a recent landmark Chinese-brokered rapprochement between powerhouses Iran and Saudi Arabia that has shifted regional relations.

The oil-rich kingdom is hosting the conference, now in its 10th edition, for the first time. Over two days, it will bring together more than 3,500 government and business officials from China and Arab countries, the Saudi investment ministry said in a statement.

The event "marked its first day with the signing of $10bn in investment agreements", the statement said - the vast majority of which are for projects in Saudi Arabia or by Saudi firms and government entities.

This figure includes a $5.6bn memorandum of understanding between the Saudi investment ministry and Human Horizons, a Chinese maker of electric and self-driving cars.

Kievs NATO-Backed Counteroffensive Is The Wests Most Important Military Campaign Since WWII "IndyWatch Feed War"

More Than Meets The Eye

BY ANDREW KORYBKO | JUNE 11, 2023

Kievs NATObacked counteroffensive has captivated the worlds attention as everyone watches to see whether itll push Russia out of the territory that Ukraine claims as its own. Progress on that direction would likely lead to continued Western support, while the failure to fulfill expectations might lead to the aforesaid being curtailed and ceasefire talks commencing. Either outcome is important, but what many observers have overlooked is the historical significance of this campaign.

The Unexpected Proxy War

Its the first time since World War II that the West has conventionally fought a military peer, albeit indirectly in this case since theyre fighting Russia via their Ukrainian proxy. The US envisaged transforming that former Soviet Republic into a platform for threatening Russia through conventional, hybrid, and unconventional means with the aim of coercing it into never-ending concessions. The goal was to strategically neutralize then Balkanize it in order to facilitate doing the same to China afterwards.

While Ukraine was cooperating with NATO to this end prior to the start of Russias special operation, including through the secret hosting of that blocs bases as well as joint biological and nuclear weapons programs, everything was supposed to accelerate after its planned reconquest of Donbass in early 2022. President Putin narrowly......

The West Stays Behind The Trenches While Spurring On Ukraine's Death March "IndyWatch Feed War"

The Western media's cynical ballooning of Ukraine's hopes, saying it can win a war against Russia, is completely diabolical.

Militarily and economically Ukraine stands no chance. China backing Canada to march on Washington a second time would have better odds.

When was the last war Ukraine fought? What is their army made of? When in their short history have they defeated a foe that would give them the confidence to take on an entire civilization on its doorstep? It's ridiculous.

This war is tragic and absurd.

The neocons in the United States bear the ultimate responsibility for this moral and geopolitical disaster, having been the ideological fathers of Russophobia in the post Cold War era, but European leaders and governments also share the blame.

The West in their hands has sunk politically, morally, culturally, and economically. Engaging in proxy warfare, using entire nations as a means to an end, is what a culturally sick, militarily weak, and morally depraved empire does as it teeters towards the dustbin of history. Look to the 7th century for a couple of examples.

The Western obsession with Russia has led to countless examples of tragedies and needless human suffering. If it was not for the British slicing India into two to thwart Russian access to the Indian Ocean at the end of WWII the horrors of partition would not have come about.

The political Islamization of Afghanistan and Iran would also not have happened if the United States did not determine in the 1970s that the Soviet Union was a greater enemy than sects of fanatical Muslims.

Point to anywhere on the map, in any period of modern history, and you'll find case after case of how the irrational Western hatred for Russia has led to political destabilization, humanitarian disaster, and long-term conflict.

Ukraine is just their latest victim.

Looking For An Off-Ramp In Ukraine "IndyWatch Feed War"

The rhetoric surrounding the Ukraine war has reached a fever pitch. Public commentators and media personalities are irresponsibly using hateful language to simplify the conflict down to a battle between good and evil. The soldiers of both sides are being described as "orcs" and "ghouls," imagery reminiscent of the vile propaganda published during World War One.

Such terms are deliberately used to mobilize public opinion and aid military recruitment efforts but one of the long-term consequences of such a dumbed-down media strategy is that it makes the eventual peace deal a hard pill to swallow for both the victor and the loser, thereby increasing the possibility of further conflict down the line.

II.

Chinas Position on the Political Settlement of the Ukraine Crisis - Published on February 24, 2023:

2. Abandoning the Cold War mentality. The security of a country should not be pursued at the expense of others. The security of a region should not be achieved by strengthening or expanding military blocs. The legitimate security interests and concerns of all countries must be taken seriously and addressed properly. There is no simple solution to a complex issue. All parties should, following the vision of common, comprehensive, cooperative and sustainable security and bearing in mind the long-term peace and stability of the world, help forge a balanced, effective and sustainable European security architecture. All parties should oppose the pursuit of ones own security at the cost of others security, prevent bloc confrontation, and work together for peace and stability on the Eurasian Continent.

Why Has WSJ Become a Professional Rumormonger against China? "IndyWatch Feed War"

Illustration: Liu Rui/GT

Illustration: Liu Rui/GT

On June 8, the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) published an exclusive report citing anonymous US officials, stating that China agreed to pay cash-strapped Cuba several billion dollars to allow it to build an eavesdropping station. To understand what this news means to Washington, which has become so sensitive about China-related issues, we can refer to the Chinese made cranes, corn factories, and balloon incident that the US hyped up earlier this year. The nature of these events is somewhat similar, though the severity cannot be compared with the Cuban eavesdropping station, but they have all caused a stir in the US.

Cuba is only about 160 kilometers from Florida. If China really builds surveillance facilities there, will Washingtons politicians still be able to sleep? The WSJ called it a brash new geopolitical challenge by Beijing to the US, which immediately reminded people of the most dangerous moment of the Cold War the Cuban missile crisis. Other US media outlets quickly followed suit, and the members of Congress who have made being anti-China their political careers also took action. The US Senate Select Committee on Intelligence issued a joint statement solemnly stating that building a spy base will pose a serious threat to our national security and sovereignty. As a result, the tension suddenly increased, and these people obviously wanted to escalate the situation.

John Kirby, spokesperson for the US National Security Council, said before the WSJ article was published that he couldnt comment on the details of the report, but stated that the US was monitoring the situation and taking steps. After the article was published, Kirby clearly stated that this report is not accurate, so there were obvious contradictions. The Pentagon also said that the media reports are not accurate. To be honest, the denials by the White House and the Pentagon were somewhat surprising. It may be that the quality of the WSJs information is so poor that officials cannot publicly endorse it. Cuba stated that the article was totally mendacious and unfounded information, and China pointed out that spreading rumors and slander is a common tactic of hacker empire the US.

The WSJ is a habitual and repeat offender when it comes to spreading rumors about China. Not long ago, it created a ma...

Fact check: Blinkens claim that US strived to revive JCPOA holds no water "IndyWatch Feed War"

By Syed Zafar Mehdi | Press TV | June 10, 2023

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken made a low-key visit to Saudi Arabia earlier this week, which coincided with the reopening of Iranian diplomatic missions in the Arab kingdom after seven years.

The whirlwind visit primarily focused on rebuilding ties between Washington and Riyadh but also involved other issues including the Joe Biden administrations aggressive but unsuccessful push to mediate Riyadh-Tel Aviv normalization.

During the visit, the top American diplomat sat down for an interview with Arabic-language Asharq News, fielding questions on a range of subjects from Irans nuclear program to the Ukraine war.

Blinkens responses were riddled with glaring inconsistencies and false assertions, in particular regarding efforts to revive the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), commonly known as the Iran nuclear deal.

On being asked whether the US was trying to revive the negotiations over the 2015 nuclear accord, the US Secretary of State said from day one the US made a significant effort in that direction.

So we, from day one, sought to determine whether a return to mutual compliance with the JCPOA was possible, and we made a significant effort in that direction, as did the European partners, and, for that matter, Russia and China, Blinken said in the interview.

But Iran either couldnt or wouldnt do what was necessary to get back into compliance with the JCPOA. So the JCPOA is not our focus, he hastened to add.

A simple fact-check is in order to set the record straight.

It was the US government, under the megalomaniac former President Donald Trump, which unilaterally abandoned the landmark nuclear agreement in May 2018, and reinstated an array of sanctions on Iran.

The move was in complete breach of the agreement and Washingtons legal obligations under Resolution 2231, the United Nations Charter and international law.

Iran adopted strategic patience for one year, waiting for European signatories to salvage the deal, and only then announced retaliatory measures, which included gradually scaling up uranium enrichment in line with a law passed by the Iranian parliament.

Trumps successor, Joe Biden, pledged to reverse the so-called maximum pressure campaign against Iran that violated the multilateral deal and laid bare the infamous American hypocrisy.

However, more than two years into office, Biden has not only failed to reverse his predecessors hard-nosed measures but has doubled down and escalated the situation.

Since April 2021, Iran and the remaining parties to the 2015 nuclear deal have been engaged in marathon negotiations in Vienna to reviv...

Where Do 2024 US Presidential Candidates Stand on Ukraine? "IndyWatch Feed War"

By Ekaterina Blinova Sputnik 09.06.2023

Over a dozen US presidential candidates have tossed their hats into the 2024 ring. Sputnik has analyzed what the contenders attitude to Washingtons ongoing proxy war in Ukraine is.

The Russo-Ukraine conflict remains one of the focal points of the 2024 election campaign. Republican and Democratic hopefuls are striving to rally support from the American public which appears to have grown impatient with the overseas standoff.

Despite roughly a half of Americans still backing the provision of military aid to Ukraine, a marked drop in the publics willingness to pay a cost in terms of higher energy price, inflation, and plummetting living standards has been registered by pollsters over the last several months. Per Brookings, the realization that there is no end in sight for the conflict has seemingly become sobering to US voters.

Do US presidential candidates who are polling at 1% or above in recent Ipsos polls and thus having a chance of coming out on top meet the American peoples expectations when it comes to the Ukraine conflict?

Democratic Party

Joe Biden

Incumbent US President Joe Biden has repeatedly stated that he would support the Kiev regime for the long haul. The Biden administration is the most vocal advocate of fuelling the unfolding standoff and imposing a strategic defeat on Russia. To that end, Joe Biden has announced over $100 billion worth of Ukraine aid packages since the onset of the conflict.

Ukraine will never be a victory for Russia. Never, Biden told a crowd in Warsaw, Poland, on February 21, 2023.

During his June 8 meeting with UK Prime Minister Sunak, the US president signaled his readiness to continue providing the Kiev regime with weapons together with London. Simultaneously, Team Biden is stirring up the waters of the Pacific by beefing up US military presence in close proximity to China. Biden is continuing to go all in on the dual standoff with Moscow and Beijing, even though this policy is backfiring both on the US and its European allies.

Marianne Williamson

Marianne Williamson, the author of A Return to Love: Reflections on the Principles of a Course in Miracles (1992), former Spiritual Leader for the Church of Today and political candidate, has called for closing over 800 US military installations in over 80 countries in her May 27 Substack op-ed denouncing them as nothing more than a continuation of the excessive militarization of American foreign policy.
