Kazakhstan-Azerbaijan Relations Take a Step Forward "IndyWatch Feed War"

First broken in an article from the Astana Times, Azerbaijani and Kazakh leaders gathered in the formers country for high-level talks on June 22, 2023. These talks were aimed at boosting the overall value of trade between the two countries to a targeted goal of $1 billion annually.

Its hardly a surprise then that these nations are working on developing closer ties. Both Azeris and Kazakhs speak similar Turkic languages, share Turkic ethnic roots, and are members of many common regional groupings like the Organization of Turkic States. Both economies are heavily dependent on hydrocarbon reserves. Politically, both have long sought to chart an independent course from the powers that surround them, predominantly Russia, despite frequently having a pro-Moscow streak in the recent past. Finally, both countries were part of the Soviet Union until its collapse in 1991.

Kazakhstan has been the most economically successful of the two. The UNs Development Program classifies Kazakhstan as a very highly developed country with a nominal income per capita of about $11,000 annually. More of its economy is devoted to the service sector than Azerbaijan. And according to the Fund for Peaces Fragile States index, Kazakhstan fares significantly better. Its significantly larger population and economy than Azerbaijan also makes it more influential in this regard.

Shifting geopolitical realities have accelerated cooperation between the two countries. According to the Astana Times article, bilateral trade between the two increased by about 40%, up to $460 million USD, in 2022. Following the imposition of Western sanctions and pariah status on a significantly less reliable partner in Russia, Kazakhstan was caught in a difficult situation. Physically sandwiched between Russia, China, and the less affluent states to its south, the country still nevertheless has been courting Western capital and political goodwill with the goal of balancing out the major regional players around it.

Azerbaijan is Kazakhstans next best geographic choice for accessing lucrative markets in the EU. Although Azerbaijan benefited from Russias refusal to help Armenia in its most recent offensive, the West considered it to...

The Big Cons and the Vassalization of Europe "IndyWatch Feed Politics.us"

Seeing whats in front of your nose demands a constant struggle.George Orwell

Im in Munich, my favorite European city, if I throw out Venice. Is Venice actually a city? At one time it was the center of a vast Mediterranean empire. It strikes me as more of a sprawling, open-air museum frozen in time. I just left there. It was, as always, wonderful.

There is a serious problem with Munich. It is under constant construction and reorganization. The inner city was bombed to smithereens in the Second World War and had to be rebuilt from scratch. That project continues through force of habit.

Another annoyance: I invariably begin the day by digesting my two least favorite establishment media outletsthe Financial Times and the NY Timeswhile having breakfast. The hotel provides them free of charge. What can one do?

I owe it to myself to keep up-to-date with Washingtons Big Cons which run simultaneously and nonstop, e.g., Ukraine, China, Russia, Iran, Israel, etc. The FT print edition is available in Munich. I love print. At home, Im stuck with the internet.

Simply put, the Big Cons are the trumpeted false narratives that (a) Russias invasion of Ukraine was unprovoked, (b) China wants to invade Taiwan and threatens the peace of the world, (c) Russia is an enduring enemy of the West, (d) Iran is building an atomic bomb to nuke Israel and must be stopped, (e) Israel is an innocent, peace-loving ally of America worthy of unlimited support.

Plus all the rigorous, irrational corollaries supporting these narratives.

A recent FT column by Gideon Rachman caught my eye in the breakfast room and caused heartburn. It seems that Europe has fallen behind America in many important ways. Who knew? Rachman appears to be stunned. This surprising trend apparently commenced in 2008, the year of the global financial crisis. Why?

Rachman proclaims, The aggregate figures are shocking. He is right. As a result, Europes chances of strategic autonomy from Washington have vaporized. It is a dependency, if not exactly a nonentity.

The trend to nullity was accelerated before our eyes thanks to this insane war in Ukraine. Although instigated in Washington by our neocon and neoliberal masterminds, the war has been enthusiastically embraced by Europes lazy, subservient leaders. Even neutral Switzerland was caught up in Ukraine hysteria.

Most importantly, Chancellor Olaf Scholz, holding hands with his green party partner, Foreign Minister Anna Baerbock, has shot Germany in both feet, if not in the head. At the behest of Washington, these two have decoupled Germany from inexpensive, easily-accessed Russian energy next door.

In the NY Times and the FT, this is called sanctioning Russia, but it is something more.

It is madness. The real loser, th......

China Caught Spying on the US Again "IndyWatch Feed War"

On June 8, The Wall Street Journal broke the spectacular story that China had "reached a secret agreement" with Cuba to build a new spy base on Cuba, just a hundred miles from Florida. The timing of the story was right. The story, it turns out, was not. The timing was suspiciously perfect. It broke Continue reading "China Caught Spying on the US Again"

New Federal State of Chinas Three-Year Anniversary "IndyWatch Feed Politics.us"

(Note: This is a sponsored post from NewNoah. The opinions expressed are those of the author and not necessarily those of Gateway Pundit)

by Kelly John Walker

Take down the CCP! These four words are sending shock waves across the world as the feisty, brilliant, and superbly organized New Federal State of China goes into its fourth year.

Lawmakers, patriots, pundits and a plethora of powerful people converged on the magnificent Darlington Estate in New Jersey to celebrate freedom and the decline of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

Fiery speeches and energetic activist anti-CCP music blasted out messages that should make autocrat Xi Jinping tremble. America is waking up, in large part thanks to the efforts of NFSC and their allies, and America will fight back!

Over the last three years, the NFSC has quickly developed to be a global movement with 24 chapters across 13 countries.

David Xia, Chairman of Rule of Law Society (a 501c4) and Secretary General of NFSC led the speaking portion of the event, saying:

The New Federal State of China will end the CCPs tyranny and its slavery of the 1.4 billion people, as well as its erosion of the free world. NFSC seeks to establish a society based on one person, one vote, governed by the Rule of Law, and the principles of Liberty, Equality, and Fraternity. Over the last three years, the NFSC has quickly developed to be a global movement with 24 chapters across 13 countries, followed by more than 600 million people, NFSC attracts not only the Chinese people, but also people of other ethnic groups worldwide, especially here in the United States of America.

Miles Guo has changed the direction of the world because hes identified [the CCP] as a trans-national criminal organization. -Steve K. Bannon

Steve K. Bannon followed:

The elite in China of the CCP are partnered with elites throughout the world; they have an economic system that works for thembuilt on the slave labor of the Chinese peoplethis entire world economy rests on slave labor.

Bannon pointed out that the George Bush administration saved the CCP by protecting their business interests based on their lies. In 1949, wethe administration of this countryessentially backed the communists

Chinas Spy Base in Cuba? "IndyWatch Feed World"

On the heels of Chinas weather/spy balloon downed by a US F-22 comes a report of the construction of a Chinese listening post in Cuba. Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., supports the Biden administrations claim that China is setting up a spy station in Cuba. Gaetz calls it a stationary aircraft carrier right off the coast of Florida.

That is pretty rich given that the US is arming Taiwan (which the present US administration confirms is a province of the Peoples Republic of China), and certainly Taiwans location makes an excellently situated listening post for the CIA. Thus it appears more so, using Gaetzs analogy, that Taiwan is being made to serve as a stationary US aircraft carrier right off the coast of Fujian. Nonetheless, Chinas presence in Cuba does not violate American sovereignty. Contrariwise, the USs meddling in Taiwan is viewed as objectionable and provocative by Beijing.

And where is the evidence for Gaetzs claim?

Western media asked Wang Wenbin, spokesman for Chinas Ministry of Foreign Affairs, for comment on 9 June 2023:

AFP: Reports by US media outlets say that China and Cuba have agreed to set up a Chinese spy facility capable of monitoring communications across the southeastern part of the US. Officials in Washington and Havana have said these reports are not accurate. Does the Chinese foreign ministry have a comment?

Wang Wenbin: I am not aware of what you mentioned. It is well known that the US is an expert on chasing shadows and meddling in other countries internal affairs. The US is the global champion of hacking and superpower of surveillance. The US has long illegally occupied Cubas Guantnamo Bay for secretive activities and imposed a blockade on Cuba for over 60 years. The US needs to take a hard look at itself, stop interfering in Cubas internal affairs under the pretext of freedom, democracy and human rights, immediately lift its...
